Michael Hudak serves as a tax consultant with Strategic Tax Planning (STP) and utilizes his extensive legal and business experience to assist clients around the country with developing and implementing strategic priorities and solutions within their business related matters.
His current area of focus is helping small businesses (and tax-exempt entities) with the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) which was designed to encourage Eligible Employers to keep employees on their payroll despite experiencing an economic hardship related to COVID-19.
Besides working as a tax consultant Michael also serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center where he teaches Corporate and Business Law.
Michael previously served as a sworn prosecutor in Maryland where he presided over 80 jury trials and ran the Prison Corruption Unit where he focused on complex litigation and major investigations.
He has also served on several corporate non-profit boards and organizations at the national, state, and local levels. Within these organizations he has held several leadership roles including executive level oversight.
In his spare time you can find him attending girl scouts with his daughter, rooting for the Ravens, Orioles, and TERPS. He also loves traveling the world, listening to live music, and is not embarrassed (OK maybe a bit) to say he has seen the Dave Matthews Band over 100 times throughout the country. His next big adventure will involve taking his daughter on her first international trip to Europe.
